Hope House Announces Grand Opening Celebration of the Rathgeber Community: A New Model of Disability Care
Hope House is proud to announce the grand opening of the Rathgeber Community, a groundbreaking addition to the landscape of disability care. The celebration will take place on
The Rathgeber Community is home to two newly built Hope Houses that together will serve 16 children living with profound disabilities. Unlike traditional group home models, this innovative approach creates a smaller family-style environment where each home includes only four residents. Every child will also have their own private bedroom, offering dignity, stability, and a true sense of belonging.
“This is more than pretty homes, it’s a reimagining of what it means to provide care,” says Dave Gould, Executive Director of Hope House. “Every child deserves not just a place to live, but a place to call home. The Rathgeber Community is a step toward that vision.”
The grand opening ceremony will include remarks from our Hope House team and building partners, a ribbon-cutting, and guided tours of the new homes. Guests will see firsthand how this new model prioritizes both individual dignity and community connection for children with profound disabilities.
Hope House invites the public, media, and community partners to join in this milestone celebration as it continues its mission to make sure no child with profound disabilities is ever told “there’s no place for you.”
